AML M7100

The American Microsystems, Ltd. (AML) M7100 is a wireless data collection terminal that enables the real-time sharing of information between points of business activity and back-end business systems.

Users scan or key data into the terminal, and the collected data is then transferred real-time over an IEEE 802.11b WLAN network to a database located on a back-end server. Incorporating the best of today's wireless technology, with the reliable performance of open source, embedded Linux, the M-7100 optimizes operational efficiency and productivity - ensuring the rapid, timely processing of mission critical data, even in the most demanding applications.

The M7100's lightweight, contoured design is intended to facilitate comfortable, one-handed operation over extended periods of use. The device features an easy-to-use 55-key alphanumeric keypad, and its graphical 160 x 160 back lit LCD with multi-font capability is easy to read, even in dimly lit environments.

The unit is powered by an embedded Intel 133MHz SA-1110 StrongARM processor, equipped with 16MB RAM and 4MB Flash ROM for program and non-volatile data storage. Its input/output interfaces include multiple integrated scanner options, RS-232, USB, and infrared (IrDA) communication ports.A built-in IEEE 802.11b radio supports wireless connectivity for real-time, high-rate data transfer. As a result of careful attention to power management, the device supports eight-hour work shifts without recharging.
