Sick LSI-101
The Sick LSI101 Laser Scanner Interface LSI-101 is capable of operating up to four PLS units simultaneously. The connected laser scanners communicate online via serial interfaces with the LSI 101.
It is used in conjunction with Sick PLS units in driverless transport systems in manufacturing plants significantly enhancing the application of the laser scanner in those areas.
By registering the running speed, the LSI101 makes it possible to adapt monitoring areas dependent on speed and direction of travel. Likewise, in stationary area protection applications protective fields can be controlled dependent on machine position and status.
Up to eight protective and warning fields - subsequently referred to as monitoring areas - can be stored in the non-volatile memory of the interface. The various areas are selected by way of binary inputs or speed transducers and are assigned to various output channels.
