Proxim AP-2000
The AP-2000 is the first access point to support Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN) enabling simultaneous operation of two independent wireless networks on the same access point. This capability allows enterprises to operate a secure corporate network and simultaneously provide guest access for Internet and e-mail applications. The AP2000 VLAN function works with existing VLAN networks used by many enterprise IT managers.
The new Ultra High Density function enables IT managers to more densely install an AP-2000 to maximize throughput for users in small areas.
Significantly simplifying installation, the AP-2000 now includes Auto Channel Selection, which makes it easier than ever to set up 802.11b and 802.11a wireless networks. The AP-2000 automatically "sniffs" the wireless environment and selects the most appropriate channel to operate on, avoiding interference and channels that are already heavily used.
