Baud rate, parity, prefix, suffix, continuous scan, and many other features are easily programmed by scanning a bar code in the user manual or through the RS-232-C port. CCD's have safe light-emitting diode (LED) illumination, so there is no user hazard to the eye from an intense laser source.
