Norand 4500

The 4500 hand-held computer is an integral part of the ROUTE-COMMANDER® 4000 Series. They provide a full function route accounting system.

The units come standard with 512K static CMOS RAM. Total Internal RAM: 512K (4400); 768K or 1MB (4410). Removable memory cards are available in 64K, 128K, 256K, 512K and 1MB configurations as an option to accommodate future growth.

The 4400/4410 hand-held operates on a standard NiCd battery pack (not included) or five "AA" alkaline batteries interchangeable without adapters. The NiCd batteries are internally charged in the hand-held. A backup capacitor and lithium battery ensure data integrity while charging the main battery.

Both units support standard languages and programs written in the Norand development language, PL/N. PL/N offers maximum efficient use of hand-held computer memory space. However, since this new family of hand-held computers is DOS compatible, you have the flexibility of running programs written in standard languages as well, such as C and C++.
