Intermec Mercury RF1
The Intermec - formerly, Nomadic Technologies, Mercury RF1 is an advanced Wireless Serial Network Interface / Wireless Print Server. Its high level of integration provides an efficient and easy way to add high performance wireless communications and networking capabilities to any product with a serial port. Its small size, weight and low power (2.88 x 5.5 x .88 at 10 ounces, fully packaged) make it ideal for mobile systems.
Since the Mercury-RF1 uses a WLI Forum OpenAir compatible radio, it can be used with any Intermec 2.4 GHz OpenAir wireless LAN system. Its serial protocols include TCP/IP. Some typical applications of the Mercury-RF1 include: wireless network print serving, wireless to serial bridge, general network connectivity for Scales, Scanner, or virtually any device.
This 2.4 GHz wireless gateway allows the ability to attach Intermec barcode printers and other non-wireless serial devices to a TCP/IP based host computer via an Intermec 2.4 GHz wireless LAN network.
