AML M3000

The American Microsystems Model 3000 Portable Barcode Reader operates on one standard 9 volt alkaline battery and stores bar code or keyed data. It's built-in data compression techniques enable storing up to 128K of data in it's 64K of memory.

With it's 2X16 LCD display, you can review and edit the data stored in the unit, and then upload it to your host computer. Once the data has been uploaded to your PC, you can then load the data into spreadsheets, word processors, point-of-sale systems, and other application programs. You can program both prefix and suffix keystroke sequences for each data field to match your software input requirements. These include function keys, tab, carriage return, escape, etc., plus any time delays required between keys.

The Model 3000 comes with its own built-in program generator. Simply enter the prompts and data requirements that you need, and the Model 3000 generates the program for you. The program generator is easy to use and requires only a few minutes to learn. In addition, several built-in inventory and data collection programs are included to get you started quickly. Multiple program and data files can be stored in the Model 3000. Programs can be easily transferred to and from the personal computer.

It can be connected to a Hayes compatible modem through the RS-232 serial port. Collected data can then be uploaded to a host computer over standard telephone lines. The Model 3000 supports XMODEM protocol.
