The Norand RCB1000 Radio Controller Base provides a cost effective and reliable radio communications network that is easy to install and operate. The architecture built into the RCB1000 provides a growth path that allows integration into existing and future host applications and radio controllers.

This architecture works to preserve your investment. It operates at up to 9600 bps to the host computer. It is upwardly compatible to other RC and RG series radio controllers and radio gates. This Controller Base is designed to provide radio communications as reliable as a direct cable connection to your host computer.

The radio controller was designed with a high-performance digital data UHF radio and incorporated a custom microprocessor to handle the host computer-to-terminal communications. The result is a rugged, compact radio controller that installs quickly to provide real-time response from your host computer.

The RCB1000 Radio Controller Base is your complete radio data network solution for linking a host to a maximum of four radio data terminals. The system architecture is designed to protect your investment for applications that require more than four hand-held terminals. You simply plug the RCB1000 into an RM3216 Multiplexer to support up to 16 terminals. The RCB1000 then functions as an RB2212 Radio Base Transceiver.

The radio data network extends your computing power by providing interactive communications between the host computer and the remote areas of your facility. The portable element of the radio data network is the radio data terminal. Terminals can be carried throughout your facility to put the power of your host computer where the action is. The terminals communicate to the RCB1000 over a wireless radio link via the integrated radio base transceiver. The RCB1000 connects to the host computer using an RS-232-C interface cable.
