Battery for Intermec RT1700 NiMH

These long lasting 7.2 Volt, 1100 mAh NiMH batteries replace Intermec/Norand part number 317-081-001 (Ni-Cad) & 317-081-010 (Ni-MH).

Compatible with Norand Desk Top Charger DTC800 part number 852-038-001.

Tech Notes:

1700 HHT NiCd (Nickel Cadmium) batteries have 2 mating holes drilled in them, which allows the batteries to mate with larger set of pins in the NiCd battery charger slot.

1700 HHT NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries do not have these holes therefore cannot be fully inserted into the NiCd charger. Although they will fit in the slot, the larger pins in the charger slot prevent the NiMH battery from contacting the smaller charging pins therefore no charging will occur.

317-081-001 battery is a 900mAh NiCd and can only be charged with the:

852-032-001 (1 bank) NiCd battery charger
852-032-003 (3 bank) NiCd battery charger
852-032-006 (6 bank) NiCd battery charger 852-041-001 (3 bank) NiMH battery charger 852-041-002 (6 bank) NiMH battery charger

317-081-010 is a 1100mAh NiMH battery and can only be charged with the:

852-041-001 (3 bank) NiMH battery charger 852-041-002 (6 bank) NiMH battery charger

317-081-030 is a 1500mAh NiMH battery and can only be charged with the:

852-041-001 (3 bank) NiMH battery charger 852-041-002 (6 bank) NiMH battery charger

Summary: 1700 HHT NiMH batteries can only be charged in 1700 HHT NiMH chargers. 1700 HHT NiCd batteries can be charged in both the NiMH and NiCd 1700 HHT chargers.
