Fore AVA-300

FORE Systems' StreamRunner AVA-300 and ATV-300 are a state-of-the-art video products that can provide impressive full-motion JPEG video imaging. The StreamRunner AVA-300 and ATV-300 can support a wide variety of networked video applications including video surveillance and live video conferencing across an ATM network.

It is used for video encoding and transmission, and the StreamRunner ATV300 for video decoding and reception.

The StreamRunner ATA 300 encodes analog video signals for transmission over ATM switched virtual circuits (SVC) or permanent virtual circuits (PVC). The StreamRunner AVA-300 video channel supports uncompressed or Motion JPEG compressed video for high-quality, low-latency transmission of full-motion, true-color video. Video from an AVA-300 can be displayed on ATV-300, UNIX workstations and Windows PCs. The StreamRunner ATV-300 module receives and decodes up to four AVA-300 video channels. The decoded channels are converted back into analog signals and displayed on a standard TV monitor or VCR.

In 2006, Ericsson purchased most of Marconi (formerly UK-based GEC), including the part that used to be FORE Systems.
