Accu-Sort DM-3500

The DM3500 is a compact, overhead dimensioning unit that automatically measures length, width, and height of packages as they are transported on a conveyor through the bar code scanning area. The self-contained dimensioner is designed for simple installation over existing conveyor systems. No break is required in the conveyor belt. The unit’s overhead location eliminates the potential for damage that side and bottom-mounted systems encounter.

The DM3500 uses a scanned, triangulated CCD camera / laser diode combination to capture the height profile of a package as it passes the unit. The system includes an Accu-Eye laser photoeye and tachometer. The tachometer monitors conveyor speed. Package detection is accomplished by the photoeye. Based on this data, the DM3500 calculates the package length, width, height, volume and position.
